A CHURCH WITHOUT WALLS - 40 DAYS OF COMMUNITY

What is 40 Days of Community?

Starting 1st October 2017, our church will be participating in a 40 Days of Community Campaign, which will run for seven weekends, finishing 13th November 2017. The primary focus of this campaign is to encourage our congregation to work together on fulfilling God’s purpose for our life by developing and deepening an authentic community within our church and reaching out to the community around our church.

Our church vision and theme at NTA Tooting for 2017/18 is a “Church without Walls”. The 40 Days of Community campaign is the first of many other events and activities that we will be doing to turn the vision into reality.

YOUTH AND CHILDREN:

We will be offering age-appropriate materials for every member of the
family, from kids to adults. There is so much power in having everyone in the family learning about the same biblical truths together. The Children’s Ministry will be catering specific to their age group with material appropriate for them.

WORKBOOK - Better Together: What on Earth are We Here For? For our 40 Days of Community Campaign we will have a daily devotional book, daily journal, and weekly small group study guide – all in one book.

MISSIONS PROJECT:

This is an exciting idea that is at the heart of this Community Campaign. The
primary focus of this campaign is on fulfilling God’s purposes for our life together by deepening the sense of community within our church and reaching out to the community around us. The Missions Project is the vehicle that will move our church outside of its four walls, and into the harvest field of a world that is in desperate need of the love of Jesus Christ. We will suggest some ways your small group could practically focus on reaching the lost. With God’s help we can make a difference!

KICK-OFF:

The campaign will kick-off on Sunday 1st October, with a message taught by Bishop Delroy Powell using a Sermon Outline created for the Campaign by Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church, from where the Campaign originates. Bishop will share a message that will set the stage for the campaign events to come.

SMALL GROUPS:

Everyone that signs up will be asked to join a small group which will be studying the
Better Together: What on Earth are We Here For? This interactive study will allow for a deeper understanding of God’s purposes and allow us to build friendships and serve with one another in our church and our community.

MINISTRY FAIR:

We will be promoting ministries that you can become involved in. Some of these
will be promoted at the Celebration Sunday service on 13th November.

CELEBRATION SUNDAY:

The Campaign culminates with a celebration where we will rejoice together in all God has done in our midst during the Campaign. We would encourage people to bring their unchurched/unsaved friends to this service as it will be especially designed to show the mission of church and what Christian community is all about.

SMALL GROUP SIGN UP:

If you have not yet done so, sign up for one of our dozen or so new Small Groups that have been set up for the campaign. Please see Rev Deborah Wilson or the Admin office for further details.

INVITE YOUR FRIENDS:

40 Days is designed to help our church to be more visible, open and accessible so we encourage you to invite your unsaved/un-churched friends to join in with us, to study what a Christian community is all about.

PRAYER:

The potential impact this could have on our lives will be increased if our hearts are
prepared through prayer. We are excited to embark on this spiritual journey together, and we appreciate your prayers for the Campaign Team, for our church leaders, and for the impact of the campaign in the lives of our people and the people of our community that we will reach out to. We are praying that many people will come to know Jesus and members of our church will feel more equipped for mission at the end of this campaign. So begin now to pray and prepare your own heart for the life-changing adventure of the 40 Days of Community. Looking forward to reaching out together.
