Press Release: The New Testament Assembly Tooting 60th Year Anniversary

The New Testament Assembly 60^th Year Anniversary

New Testament Assembly Tooting (NTA) celebrates its 60^th year Diamond Anniversary. A special virtual anniversary service is planned to be aired on Sunday 21^st February to mark the occasion. The event will feature special digital media presentations, international speaker, tributes from local civic and community leaders and guest musical artists. Bishop Delroy Powell, Senior Pastor has this to say, ‘these are extraordinary times as the global pandemic continues to upend and disrupt everything in its wake. Against this backdrop of unprecedented change we are determined to honour in style what is another extraordinary milestone”

About NTA Tooting

From a humble beginning in 1961 in a living room in Balham, NTA has grown into a global organization with churches and ministries across four continents. As well as being known for its vibrant worship and Christian witness, NTA Tooting also has a long and recognised history of engaging with a plethora of social needs in Wandsworth and neighbouring boroughs.

Pioneering founders, the late Bishop Melvin Powell and his wife Amy Rose Powell are responsible for the creation of the Tooting Neighbourhood Centre (TNC), its Home Care and other activities which served the community for over 30 years. In more recent times, the local church situated in Beechcroft Road, under the leadership of Bishop Delroy Powell and Pastor Andrew Wignal has worked closely with the South West London and St George’s Mental Health Trust as well as with the South West London CCG to improve the mental health and wellbeing particularly of those within the BAME community.
