Monthly Bulletin | February 2017 | 56TH Anniversary
From the desk:
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. 3 John 1.2
The Latin word for February, Februarius means to "purify" or "expiate." I am not advocating that we hijack yet more ancient pagan practices. I do however find it fascinating that the Romans would devote the entire month detoxing the body from the excesses of Christmas and New Year festivities that went on well into January. It is fair to say that Scripture places greater emphasis on the care of our spirit which is eternal. But this does not mean that we should neglect or trash our body. Our body is the temple of the living God; the habitation of the Holy Spirit; it is a vehicle that enables us to fulfil God’s purpose and assignment for our life. I believe that this is why God wants us to prosper and be in health, even as our soul prospers.
Here are three things that you can do this February that will help you to thrive, flourish and function at your top capacity.
1. Eat right: Develop the habit of eating the right foods, in the right proportions, at the right times. Decide to eat a more balanced diet of more fruits, vegetables, and whole grain products.
2. Exercise regularly: Practice moving every joint in your body every single day. If all you did was to walk 30 minutes a day 7 days a week you will be the fittest person on your street.
3. Sleep well: You can change the way you feel, and improve your performance al round by ensuring that you get adequate sleep.
I declare peace, health and prosperity over your body soul and spirit this month in Jesus Name.
